THE WEDGE ANCHOR’S ANATOMY / OUR WONDROUS WEDGE ANCHORS

A type of anchor used to secure several components to concrete is referred to as a Wedge anchor. The two independent halves of a wedge anchor are permanently pre-assembled to form a single unit. The first component is a rod made of carbon steel that is threaded along some of its length. The anchor’s installed or opposing end has a conical or necked-down diameter that tapers back to the rod’s full diameter.A steel slip or sleeve, which is permanently assembled around the conical part of the rod, makes up the wedge anchor’s second component. To finish the installation, a nut and washer are also needed for each wedge anchor.Wedge anchors may be utilised in a variety of situations as long as the foundation is made of sturdy concrete. The wedge anchor cannot be used in brick or block, unlike many other concrete fasteners. The wedge anchor comes in a wide range of diameters and lengths and is easy to use. Both mild and high load applications can employ wedge anchors.
